Cherry Hill House Fire Stemmed From BBQ Grill: Fire Officials
CHERRY HILL, NJ - The Cherry Hill Fire Department responded to a house fire in the township Friday that stemmed from a BBQ grill outside the house, fire officials said.
The blaze was reported Friday evening on Covered Bridge Road, fire officials said in a Facebook post.
The fire was "quickly extinguished with no injuries reported," the department said.
In an infographic posted alongside the statement, fire officials warned that grills placed too close to anything else that can burn is a fire hazard. Grease or fat buildup in trays below the grill should be cleaned, and grills should never be left unattended, the fire department stated.
Children and pets should also be kept at least three feet away from the grilling area, officials added.
